Gheisari, Rashad abu Akbar, and a mysterious witch hunter all awoke on the shore of the isle. Also on the shore were a variety of survivors from the doomed prison ship that had sank the night before. The beggar Gehisari noticed that along the tree line there was a straw effigy of a man with a coconut for a head tied to a palm tree. He quickly began to shout to get the attention of other castaways. The two former prison ship enforcers: Rashad and the witch hunter were swayed by the protestations of the beggar Gehisari that the three of them should head inland away from the other survivors to insure that they would not catch the White Plague which some of the survivors no doubt carried.
So the fighter, the hunter, and the thief headed first west along the shore until they spotted a hill in the jungle, and then headed for the hill. Climbing up the hill they saw brightly colored birds, monkeys, and many many coconuts. They also found a copse of purple flowers growing near the bloated maggot ridden corpses of several dead monkeys. Giving the dead monkeys a wide berth, Gheisari collected coconuts from a tree as the others used the advantage of the high hill to look over the treeline and deeper into the jungle.
They caught sight of two tall mountains whose peaks smoked ominously and whose profiles resembled two great horns. The castaways also noticed a ruined tower in the distance that looked to be at the edge of a body of water, and so they started to head to the tower. As they approached they heard the sound of drums. Heading further into the jungle toward the drums, they happened across three pirates, one of whom Gehisari knocked out with a well thrown coconut. The other two succumbed to the prowess of the fighter and the witch hunter who brought them down with a well placed scimitar stroke and a hip shot flintlock, respectively. Looting the bodies, and slitting the throat of the unconscious survivor, the three men dressed in the pirates clothes and headed still further into the jungle.
When suddenly out of the foliage in front of them whipped a two foot tall lizard as if spooked by something. Seeing the lizard, Gehisari climbed a tree to scout around and happened to spot a fearsome war party ten men strong of scantily clad island natives festooned with human bone jewelry, and spears. A trio of them appeared to be carrying blowguns. He whispered to the others, who tried to hide. Gehisari and Rashad were successful, but the witch hunter was not. The tribesmen got the drop on the witch hunter zealot but the two hidden men got turned the tables. Gehisari threw his dagger and managed to deflect a thrown spear with his buckler, while Rashad cut down two more tribesmen, and the witch hunter led four tribesmen on a merry chase around the battlefield. Only to suddenly turn and fight after he had led them straight back to Rashad. The battle was over just as quickly as it had begun.
